Sorry Dean, technically it is considered East Side. Also, I hear it is going to be 72 holes (eight 9-hole loops).
Really? Oh well, it's still worth mentioning on here.
Definitely. Should be a great destination for people from all over. Lots of potential with this complex.
I can't wait to play it!
I grew up in Northfield so I know that area pretty well. Should be some interesting shots. I wish it was closer to Rochester though.
Agreed, Jared. Us Rochester folk have slim pickins when it comes to quality courses nearby.

The website says "Spring 2010"... is that an open to play date, or a construction start date? Anybody know more?
Construction has started, and the Spring 2010 is the tenative open date. My understanding is they want to open ASAP, with the date being weather sensitive. The drier/warmer the late winter/early spring, the sooner it will be open. Depending on where you are in Roch, it could be about 15 miles further then the drive to Austin.

Jake, do you know anything about possible fees? Will they have a season pass? I'm on the north side of Roch now, So I'm thinking it will only be about 45 minutes of a drive.
I don't think any thing has been determined, but I would expect it to be in the $7-$10 a day. I also wouldn't be suprised if they did yearly passes or reduced rates during the week. Hopefully TG could provide you more info. He may be available via the castle rock website at http://www.castlerockdiscgolf.com/
7 to 10 a day is a bit pricey I think. Thats going to be the highest I've heard of.
Again, this is just a guesstimate based on some things I have heard, but NOTHING is set in stone or even what I would consider legit.

I think Highbridge runs in that range. I know BRP is $5 a day, and the 3 Rivers courses are $3 a round or $5 for the day, but its the same course. For "$10" you get 72 unique holes without having to drive to another course.

Hello South Zone!

Great to see all the chatter regarding Castle Rock. I won't go into too much detail here, but stay tuned to the official Castle Rock website at www.castlerockdiscsports.com for updates. The site is very new, but of course, there is much to be announced in the coming weeks, months.

The latest MFA floater has a nice article regarding Castle Rock, check it out if you have not already on the MFA ning page here:
http://mnfrisbee.ning.com/page/the-floater

Even though CR is a 100% done deal, I hate to keep yall hangin, but until a few more details are ironed out and the official announcements are made, I need to keep er in house. But none the less, this April, weather permitting, you will be playing disc golf at Castle Rock!!!!! Construction began last November while the weather was perfect.

The beauty of CR is the location. It is very easy to get to, either off of 35 or 52. Yes, technically it is (L)eastside, but I still like to think of it as SOUTHSIDE!!!!! (part of the southern tip of the property is classified as Northfield, so you're saying there's a chance!!!)

Think of it as a more open style collaboration of courses with a private Blue Ribbon feel on steroids and 72 holes.
Tenatively $7 weekday, $10 weekenday. We may not offer season passes the first year, still working on the details. Many options to discuss, like 10 day pass, season, daily ect.... But either way, your money will be well spent with the variety of DG that will be offered. Pick you poison, Uber long with USDGC style OB, uber long with hills and some woods, super long with moderate hills and woods, Bryant Lake style 9, Elm Creek/HSSA style 9, or 18 similar to Kaposia/BRP/Acorn. Little bit of everything for everyone.

Keep ROCKIN Southzone, Happy New Year,
Stay tuned,
TG
