SMDGA Nominations and Voting for Officers (vote by selecting the 'Vote for Officers' tab under the DISCussion tab)

I would like to get the nominations and voting for the SMDGA 2010 Officers started.
As a SMDGA group this is our first time electing officers through the web for officer positions.
Let's try to keep it simple, with the understanding that changes will need to be made in the future.

Nominations are now open as of Sunday, November 1st 2009 through Friday, November 6th 2009 for the following positions:
SMDGA President
SMDGA Vice-President
SMDGA Treasurer
SMDGA Counselor/Advertisement Rep.
SMDGA East Zone Contact
SMDGA West Zone Contact

Attached is a list of the job descriptions for each of the offices.
You may nominate yourself.
If you nominate someone else you must have their concent to fill the position.

Voting will begin Saturday, November 7th 2009 and end on Friday, November 13th 2009 in time for the MFA Fall Meeting for MFA Officers.

Offices will be decided by majority vote.

Derek thanks again for working so hard to get this going but since so many have a hard time working this I suggest maybe a crayon option next time.

Actually, I think it's mostly Brad's comments and then people responding to them, so send your crayons up to Eden Prairie...lol. JUST KIDDING, BRAD! In all seriousness, I do sincerely appreciate Brad's comments and feedback though...as I'm the same way with stuff like this. AKA "What doesn't work as well as we want it to? What can we do better next year?" ...instead of focusing on what is working just fine. That's why Brad and I butt heads every now and then, because he and I are too much alike on some things.

The only thing that irks me is if people leave it to others to get stuff done and then decide they're gonna complain about what the end results might be. Kind of like if somebody waltzed in to RWF after ignoring 5-6 invites to help you, Claire, Bob and Linn with the course design/installation (same goes for Springfield, Jackson, Worthington, et al)...then saying "OMG, you guys really screwed up Hole __ when you designed this thing! What were you thinking?!" My guess is that person might be kick-boxed right into the 'ol pond by the Hole 6 basket...and they would deserve it too, LOL. :-)

FYI, the polls are officially closed for our 2009-2010 SMDGA officers election, and the 2008-2009 Board has all of the preliminary results in their hands as of about five minutes ago. I expect a quick review with Brian posting the final results of the election shortly...so sit tight! I'll let Brian spread the word on the results...and not let any cats out of any bags. :-)

I just wanted to say congratulations to our four Board members who will be re-upping in 2010...and an especially BIG congratulations to Claire and Jared for winning the respective West Side and East Side Coordinator positions. I know all six of you will do a great job in 2010...and can't wait to see where the next 12 months leads us.

Now we'll see how the MFA elections shake-out tomorrow in Brooklyn Park! Go Todd! And especially GO JAKE in your run for MFA VP!!!
